Welcome! I hope everyone had a great week-end with the beautiful weather!
In math this week, we will continue working with decimals. We will review adding, subtracting, and multiplying, then we will work on dividing with decimals as well. There will be a short quiz on Friday to show what we know! It will be on the four operations with decimals.
We are going to start our research projects on Christmas Around the World. We will get our groups and countries finalized on Monday, and then BEGIN! I have the library booked for Tuesday and Wednesday to give all groups time to do some research in books and encyclopedias before we go to the computer lab. I expect each group to use a variety of resources.
We will be reviewing microscopes on Monday, and then students will be given time to practice using them. We will start our lab on Thursday (perhaps Monday depending on our skill).
Dates to remember...
Monday, Nov. 28 ~ students are welcome to go in the Santa Parade with the Athena Float
Tuesday, Nov. 29 ~ Early Morning Band
Wednesday, Nov. 30 ~ 2nd needle for girls (HPV)
Friday, Dec. 2 ~ money due (5.50) for those wishing to purchase turkey dinner
Wednesday, Dec. 7 ~ Christmas Concert at 1:00 and 6:30 (parents are welcome to either performance)
Have a great week everyone, it sounds like a good one!

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a peaceful week-end.
I have lots of interesting learning planned for this week.
In Language Arts, we are going to start a Book Club Unit on fantasy. It is entitled "Hero of Another World". We will be learning about the fantasy genre as well.
In math, we will be studying place value in the tenths position and beyond. We will also be concentrating on multiplying and dividing with decimals. So make sure to review your basic facts! I have started a "Math Club" at lunch on Day 5. This time is available for students to drop in if they have any concerns or areas which they would like some extra support or practice. All are welcome!
We finished our science labs on the mealworms and they were due on Friday. We will be starting a microscope study this week. We will be learning the parts of a microscope, rules for handling this device, as well as how to write a lab.
In French, we will finish our menus and then focus on the roles of waitress/waitress and the client in a restaurant.
Remember ~ Early Morning Band on Tuesday, November 22
No school on Friday, November 25 (Professional Development Day)
Book Order due on Thursday, November 24
Report Cards go home on Thursday, November 24
Day 5~Math Club
Have a great week, work hard and learn lots!
